Obituary

Mineral Point - William F. Amenda "Bill", age 86, of Mineral Point passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Mineral Point.

He was born on August 6, 1933 the son of Clyde "Tobin" and Tassie (Toay) Amenda. He graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1951 and later was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in the Military Police. Bill married Janet Aide on November 8, 1975 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Mineral Point. He worked at Nelson Muffler Plant (now Cummins) for over 30 years. After retiring he worked at Gratz Motors doing dealer trades. They enjoyed road trips, parades, and collecting stamps. Bill was known for having the newest and shiniest car around town.

He is survived by his wife Janet of Mineral Point, a daughter Tina Walrack of Mineral Point, 3 grandchildren; Deven (Leah) Walrack, Sasha Walrack, and Jaron Walrack, a great granddaughter Cherokee Kay Grace, a special cousin Mildred Thrasher Krause and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Patricia (Jack) Gavigan and a nephew Tom Gavigan.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at a later date.
