Mineral Point - Walter "Walt" P. Wendhausen, age 73, of Mineral Point, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on Friday, August 22, 2014.

He was born on August 3, 1941 on the family farm, the son of Albert and Alvina (Maier) Wendhausen. He graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1958. He married Marlene Dischler on August 3, 1963 at the United Church of Christ in Sauk City, WI. Walt farmed on the family farm in the Bloomfield area his entire life. He enjoyed activities and conversation with his children, working with them on a daily basis and watching his grandchildren play in sports. He enjoyed his many trips to "The Boat" and Branson, Missouri.

Walt is survived by his wife of 51 years Marlene; his children, Jeff (Kim) Wendhausen of Mineral Point, Jackie (Nels) Anderson of Hartland and Jerry (Shelly) Wendhausen of Mineral Point; his grandchildren, Trevor, Nels, Natalie, Chance, Payton, Garrett, Savanah, Blake, Olivia, Jaxson, Rickey and Alyssa; his sister, Gladys Kienzle of Platteville; his brothers, John (Shirley) Wendhausen of Davenport, IA and Richard (Maclean) Wendhausen of Mineral Point; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by parents, a daughter, Jennifer Kostichka, his siblings, Helen Cody, Carol Helms, Rhinehart Wendhausen and Bobby Wendhausen; his in-laws, Roman "Jack" and Bryda Dischler.

Funeral Services will be held on 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014 at the CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST in Mineral Point. Rev. Daniel Yeazel will officiate. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST in Mineral Point.
