McFarland / Mineral Point - Virginia Mae Williams, age 88, of McFarland and formerly of Mineral Point passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Karmenta Nursing Home in Madison.
Virginian was born in Eau Claire on November 9, 1924 the daughter of Elmer and Louise (Guenther) Fuller. She graduated from Unity High School in Colby, WI in 1942. Virginia married Ralph W. Williams on April 8, 1945 in Madison. They moved to Mineral Point in 1948 where she worked at Burgess Battery and Memorial Hospital of Iowa County. She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Mineral Point, the Royal Neighbors of America and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed country music, playing cards and bingo.
Virginia is survived by two sons, Russell (Mary) Williams, of McFarland and John Williams, of Mineral Point; two grandsons, Randy (Susan) Williams, of Palm Harbor, FL and Jeff (Jacinda) Williams, of Minneapolis, MN; two great grandsons, Noah and Kai Williams. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ralph.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point. Pastor Rich McLeer will officiate. Burial will be in the Mifflin Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME.
