Dodgeville – Vernon M. Forseth, age 84, of Dodgeville, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Bloomfield Nursing & Rehab Center.

He was born on March 10, 1932 in Dodgeville, a son of the late Melvin and Azetta (Harms) Forseth. On July 3, 1951, he married Mary Louise Yager in Dodgeville. He worked as a farmer for most of his life and retired from Oscar Mayer after 28 years. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, carpentry, long road trips and spending winters in Texas. He loved his Canada trips and fishing with his family and friends.

Vernon enjoyed sharing his remedies for good health, which included daily doses of vinegar, honey and garlic. He was very proud of being sober for 34 years.

Vernon is survived by his wife of 65 years Mary; his children Susan (Terry) Voigts, Cherrie (Bryan) Lasky, Michael (Lynn) Forseth, Sheila (Gene) Fischer, Teresa Steele (Jerry Ballweg), Mitch Forseth, Yvonne (Mark) Vils, Tim (Nancy) Forseth; his daughter-in-law Erika Forseth; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sisters Delores Martin and Alner Martin; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Harold, his daughter Shelley, his son Patrick, his brother James Forseth and his sister Darlene Woerpel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Monsignor Daniel Ganshert will officiate. Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
