Hollandale – Therese McCarragher, age 94, of Hollandale passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Crestridge Memory Care in Dodgeville following a brief illness.

Therese was born on July 16, 1928 in Dodgeville to Patrick and Margaret (Ryan) McCarragher. She was a graduate of Hollandale High School and attended her first two years of college at Edgewood and the last two years at UW Platteville. She had a number of credits towards getting her Master's degree.

Therese started teaching in Lancaster in 1951 and taught there for 12 years. Then in 1963 began in the McFarland School District till her retirement in 1990. Therese was a dedicated member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hollandale, the Council of Catholic Women, the Red Hatters, Dane County Shamrock Club, WREA of Iowa County, McFarland Lioness Club and the Iowa County Historical Society. She loved to travel within the United States and countries in Europe. She loved cats especially Blueberry and Hobbs and the Scott family's dog Scooter.

Therese is survived by many wonderful relatives, friends and neighbors, especially Dave and Mona Scott family, cousin Michael (Jean) Ryan and special friends Ann and Jeff Johnsrud.

She was preceded in death by her parents, uncles, aunts and some cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Hollandale. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Isidore Parish, Upland Hills Hospice or to a charity of your choice.
