Mineral Point - Sharon Kay Sullivan left us on Saturday, May 19, 2018, with her husband by her side and after a long battle with cancer. Kermit and Margaret (Cleary) Hanson welcomed Sharon on May 25, 1948, as their first child, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.

Sharon married James Earl Sullivan on October 28, 1967 at St. Paul's in Mineral Point, Wisconsin residing in Dodgeville, WI and later settling the rest of their days in Mineral Point, WI.

Sharon loved her time baking, camping, crocheting, playing with her dogs, crossword puzzles, watching NASCAR, Jeep rides and spending time with her family and friends. She retired in 2014 from Land's End, after 32 years of employment. Sharon spoke highly of her fun and amazing co-workers, not loving the daily grind, but enjoyed who she worked with.

Sharon is known for her "smartie-pants" ways and never held her tongue when it came to Sully. Sully is the love of her life, she enjoyed cooking and cleaning for him and their camping trips together. Sharon and Sully were a match that will forever be remembered.

Sharon leaves behind her beloved husband of 50 years, Sully; her brother Harlan Hanson; her sisters-in-law Debbie (Huey) Kieffer of Mineral Point; Mary Jo (Terry) Bystol of Dodgeville; her brother-in-law Bob (Barb) Miller of Dane, WI; her niece Cheryl (Steve) Simmons of Mineral Point; her step-nieces Reanna (Bob) Parker of Darlington, WI, Sarah E. Koehler of Darlington, WI, Sammi (Matt) Baty of Bristol, CT; her nephews Michael (Krystal) Kieffer of Barneveld, WI, Andrew (Sheila) Soper of Fayette,WI, Paul Hanson, Shaun (Shanon) Hanson both of Mineral Point; her step-nephews Brandon (Malissa) Turner of Dane WI, TJ (Amelia) Turner of Madison, WI; many loved great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her sister and her parents.

Sharon, you are an important piece of our family puzzle, one that will never be replaced or forgotten. Thank you for sharing your life with us, we love you.

The family would like to thank the staff and care team of Upland Hills Nursing Center and Hospice who take great care of Sharon, laughing with her and caring greatly.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point. Fr. Jim Leeser will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 until time of service at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Cruise Inn in Mineral Point.
