Obituary

Dodgeville - On March 18, 2021, the Lord called Sandi (Anderson) Grimm home. If you were to ask any member of her very large family or spoke with one of her innumerable friends, they would tell you He called her home too soon. Sandi was 57.

Sandi was born on July 31, 1963 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. When she was 18, she was escorted by Joe to her senior prom at Dodgeville High School. Sandi started working at Lands' End during college and worked there for the next 38 years. Joe and Sandi were married in 1984, and their only daughter, Katherine Linnea Grimm, was born in 1987. The family enjoyed many memory-filled trips together, including annual trips to Florida to see family; regular excursions to Port Washington and Alaska for fishing; once to Hawaii; as well as a multi-week trip to Germany, after hosting a pair of German exchange students for the academic year during Kati's freshman and sophomore years of high school.

Sandi and Joe built their forever home together on family property in 1999 just east of the hospital. In 2017 and then again in 2019, Sandi became a doting grandmother. 'Nana Sandi' spoiled them often and was unhappy at the thought of spending more than a few weeks away from them at a time.

Often described as a "second mother", Sandi was regularly depended upon as a planner and organizer, mediator, caretaker, and general worrier for those around her. As a planner, Sandi would always bring people together. While a celebration of Sandi's life is not the gathering any of us had envisioned, she once again has brought her family and friends together.

She is survived by her parents, Steve and Carolyn Anderson; her dedicated husband Joseph; her brother Scott (Caroline); her sisters Denise (Brian Hottmann) and Carla (Bill Freidig); her loving daughter, Kati (Ian Clark); her grandsons Anders (1) and JJ (3); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

A Public Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the Gorgen-McGinley & Ayers Funeral Home in Dodgeville, where masks and social distancing is required for your duration in the funeral home.

Sandi often loved getting single roses from Joe. In that spirit, the family wishes that in lieu of sending flowers, please display a single red rose in your home and think of Sandi and your loved ones often and fondly. If you'd like to make a donation, please do so to your favorite charity in Sandi's name.
