Dodgeville – Ronald P. Gast, age 74, of Dodgeville, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.

He was born on September 19, 1942, the son of Reinhold and Vivian (Bethke) Gast. Ron graduated from Richland Center High School in 1961. He married his high school sweetheart, Janet Miller, on September 14, 1963. They share 53 wonderful years together. He loved fishing and enjoyed sharing his stories with family and friends. Ron worked at Oscar Mayer for 32 years and at Lands' End for 8 years.

Ron is survived by his mother, Vivian Gast of Dodgeville; his wife, Janet; his three children, Nancy Miller of Dodgeville, Nathan (Joan) Gast of McFarland and Jennifer (Curt) Walter of Waunakee; his brother, David (Lyn) Gast of Germantown, TN; his sister-in-law, Lewan Miller (Don Hartman) of Poynette; his six grandchildren, Emily & Allison Walter, Arianna Miller, Marisa, Evan and Brayden Gast; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Reinhold in 1992.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at FAITH FELLOWSHIP CHURCH in Dodgeville. Rev. Ethan Druckenmiller will officiate. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at FAITH FELLOWSHIP CHURCH. Burial will be held in Ash Creek Cemetery, Richland Center at 2:00 p.m.
