Obituary

My farm is not where I soil my hands in endless toil... but where through seed and pod I've learned to talk with God. Robert "Bob" Baehler, Mineral Point, passed away peacefully at home on March 8th with his wife of 54 years, Mary, by his side.

He was born March 18th, 1942 in Hartford, WI to Werner and Hilda Baehler. He spent his childhood on the family dairy farm in North Lake, WI along with his brother David (Sherry). He received a degree from the University of WI-Madison Agriculture Short Course Program. The idyllic farming lifestyle was permanently in his blood.

He and Mary continued the farming career first in Wales, WI for 30 years followed by 20 years in Mineral Point with their son Eric (Sally Baxter). They also had two daughters, Elizabeth (James Walker), Sarah (Jeff Winkler) and were blessed with grandchildren Justin and Ally Baehler (mother Robyn Baehler), Nathan and Molly Walker, and Lauren and Zachary Winkler.

Bob developed his love of sports playing for winning football and baseball teams at Arrowhead High School. He was a fan of the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers. He played basketball in the barn with his kids and enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren's sports teams. He enjoyed watching the natural wildlife around the farm and was excited to meet up with the occasional badger in the pasture. A quiet, kind, gentle man who loved his Lord, he was a member of First English Lutheran Church. We will miss his gentle teasing and mischievous smile.

A memorial service is being planned for this summer.
