Obituary

Dodgeville - Richard E. (Dick) DeVoss, age 71, of Dodgeville, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Upland Hills Hospital in Dodgeville, WI surrounded by loved ones.

Dick, the son of Fred and Lois DeVoss was born on March 3, 1947 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA. Dick graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1965 with the love of his life Elaine L. (Peterson) DeVoss who he married and had two children with, Staci (Timm) Sandstrom, grandsons Jake and Nick; Jeffrey (Julie) DeVoss, grandsons Rory (great granddaughter Keira), Ian (Rhiannon and great grandson Rohan), and Austin. They were married for 20 years and stayed life long friends.

Dick was known for his quirky sense of humor and lifelong love affair of trucks, cars, and motorcycles. In later life he enjoyed reading westerns and mysteries along with watching all of the beautiful birds that frequented his feeders.

Dick is further survived by his wife Vickie, stepson James of Omaha, NE and stepdaughter Jennifer (Matt) Guyett and her son Logan Neddemeyer of Council Bluffs, IA. Dick is also survived by much loved siblings David (Dorothy) DeVoss of Dodgeville, Larry (Katherine) DeVoss of Dodgeville, Orville (Carol) DeVoss of Linden, Gary (Cora) DeVoss of San Antonio, TX, Tom (Kathy) DeVoss of Dodgeville and Jerry Morrison (brother-in-law) of Verona, WI and many special nieces and nephews. Also, special friends Terry (Deb) Slaney, Dodgeville and all of the Slaney and Son's family.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Lois DeVoss, son Jeff DeVoss, granddaughter Sarah E. Sandstrom, nephew Carson DeVoss and his sister Sharon Morrison.

A Public Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville.
