Mineral Point – Raymond A. Wick, age 66, of Mineral Point, known as Big Ray, to many family and friends, went to meet the LORD at the trout stream in the sky, on Monday, August 5, 2013, surrounded by his beloved family.
Ray was born on August 16, 1946 in Racine, Wisconsin. He married Penny Spurny on July 6, 1968. He was employed as custodian at Dodgeville Elementary School for 10 years, where he loved to interact with the kids and staff. His passions were family, fishing and singing "The Blues" while cooking.
Ray is survived by his caring wife, Penny; his loving daughter, Tammy; his best friend and son-in-law, Jeremy Zhe; as well as his special sisters-in-law, Pat Oens and Pam Moore; his awesome nephews, Brian, Keith Zoppnow, Bryce Beyler including their families plus "the Zhe Family", grand pets and friends.
Ray was preceded in death by infant daughter, Tonya, his parents, Raymond R. and Joyce Wick and in-laws, Bud and Helen Spurny.
Ray touched the lives and hearts of so many people. If you met Ray, you couldn't help but like him.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH in Mineral Point. There will be a celebration of Ray's life immediately following the service at his home.
