Mineral Point - Philip Edward Cody, 52, of Mineral Point, passed away on July 15, 2013 surrounded by his family at Upland Hills Health Hospital in Dodgeville, WI after a long and courageous battle with ALS.
Phil was born on October 4, 1960 in Dodgeville, WI, the son of Edward and Carol Cody. He graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1979. He married Kelly Kay Parkos-Yager on January 28, 1994. He had a love of farming and was around it all of his life. He also worked at Mueller's Implement in Dodgeville and at Potterton – Rule Real Estate in Mineral Point.
Phil is survived by his wife of 19 years Kelly; three children, Danielle Yager (Grant Miller), Alyssa Cody and Nathan Cody, his mother, Carol Cody, his father-in-law, Bert Parkos, two sisters: Ann (Fred) Kendall and Jane (Gary) Sporle all of Mineral Point, sister in law Tracy (Rod) Meyers, 2 brother-in-laws, Tom (Ernestine) Parkos and Troy (Tammy) Parkos and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Cody and his mother-in-law Charlotte "Chuckie" Parkos.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. MARY & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH in Mineral Point. Fr. Monte Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. all at Ss. MARY & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH.
Phil loved the time he spent with his wife and kids, family and friends.
He was a wonderful husband, father, son, and friend and will be greatly missed by all. Phil lightened every room he was in with his infectious laugh and always had time for "one more".
