Beloit - Norman L. "Duke" Montgomery, age 85 of Beloit passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at UW Hospital in Madison.

He was born on June 22, 1940 the son of to Paul Curtis & Virginia Katherine (Michael) Montgomery in their home in Fort Madison, IA,

He graduated in 1958 from Lone Rock High School.

He married Judy Palzkill 57 years ago at St. Mary's Church in Mineral Point.

Norm worked several years for Beloit Pipe & Dredge in South Beloit, IL. He was trucking manager for Ruan Leasing for 15 years and then went over the road trucking the last days of his career.

He loved old westerns on TV. Norm served in the U.S. Army for 2 years & became a Green Beret.

He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Judy, two sons Jeff of Brookfield, & Ron of Rockton, IL., he also has two grandsons Cole of Green Bay & Alex at home in Rockton, a brother Jerry & his wife Rosi of Wisconsin Dells and their son Jamie of Loves Park, IL. and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, in-laws Herman & Mary Palzkill, his brother Ronnie, 2 brothers- in-law Jim (Judy & Carol) Palzkill & Ron Palzkill, a sister-in law Barb Palzkill and a daughter-in-law Ann Montgomery.

Norman will be buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Mineral Point.
