Waldwick / Mineral Point - Neva Eileen Kendall, daughter of Maynard and Alma (Rasmussen) Tibbits, was born on July 4th, 1927 in Beloit, WI. and died June 27th, 2022 at the home of her daughter, one week before her 95th birthday. She and her family moved to the Belmont area when she was 2 years old and eventually settled at the farm on Tibbits Road, rural Mineral Point. Neva graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1944.
Neva married Edwin Kendall on August 16, 1947 at the United Congregational Church in Mineral Point. Neva and Eddie farmed near Waldwick until Eddie passed away in 1997. Neva continued to live in her own home on the farm until a few weeks before her death.
Neva and Eddie had 6 children: Dennis, Connie, Judi, Cheryl, Fred and Larry. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eddie in 1997, son, Dennis in 2004 and daughter, Connie at birth. She was also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Maxine Tibbits, sisters and brothers-in-law, Eunice and John Nelson and Nona and Eugene Chappell, aunt, Minnie Tibbits, who was like a second mother to her, and a special niece, Diane Whitford.
She is survived by her children, Judi (Jon) Ascher, Cheryl Kendall, Fred (Ann) Kendall and Larry (Marcia) Kendall, daughter-in-law, Patti Kendall, 8 grandchildren, 1 step granddaughter, and 9 great grandchildren.
Neva was a lifelong member of the Mineral Point Wrestling Club and was inducted into the Al Bauman Hall of Fame along with Eddie in 1997, She proudly attended every state wrestling tournament from 1964 – 2020.
She was an active member of the Waldwick Community Church from 1947 to present. She was an avid bowler and bowled until she was 90 years old. She was also a member of the Dodge Point Country Club for many years.
She enjoyed watching and cheering for the Pointers, Badgers, Brewers and Packers, having lunch with her "Red Hat" friends and playing Rummy on Wednesday nights.
Family Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 at the Waldwick Community Church. Pastor David Ritchie will officiate. Burial will be in the Waldwick Cemetery.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Waldwick Community Church, MPRS or MPFD or the charity of your choice.
