West Allis - Nelda L. Digman, age 90, of West Allis passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Freodtret Hospital in Milwaukee.

She was born in Mineral Point on July 5, 1928 the daughter of Henry and Shirley (Goelz) Hellickson. She graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1946. Nelda attended Rockford School of Medicine graduating with a nursing degree. She married Paige Ballard in 1947, and she later married Larry Digman and he preceded her in death in 1991. She worked as a Surgical Nurse in Milwaukee for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed NASCAR racing, parades and traveling with her friends.

Nelda is survived by her daughter India Blade of Loves Park, IL; her grandson Johnie Blade of Loves Park, IL; her stepchidren Larry III, Mary, Mark and Dennis; a cousin Ollie Bressler; nieces and nephews Royce (Marlene) Jones, Bonnie Juedes, Steve (Bonnie) Jones and Lynn (Jeff) Mair; several relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry Digman, sister Lorraine (Byron) Jones, and a granddaughter Kenya.

A Celebration of Nelda's Life will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Mineral Point. Pastor Gerhardt Miller will officiate. inurnment will be at a later date in Wauwatosa. A visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the church.
