Beaver Dam / Mineral Point - Nancy Rose Greenwood, age 75 of Beaver Dam and formerly of Mineral Point, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at her home.
She was born at home in Mineral Point on February 26, 1939 the daughter of Charles and Agnes (Fecht) Kieffer. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School until 1953 and graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1957. She graduated from WI State College and Institute of
Technology- Platteville (UW Platteville) in 1961 majoring in Elementary Education. She married John Greenwood on December 27, 1960 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Mineral Point. All through their married life, John referred to her as "My Bride". They have lived in Beaver Dam since July of 1965.
Nancy loved animals and birds, and was proud of her extensive cardinal collection. She also loved flowers and enjoyed dancing to polka music. She liked current events and could talk politics with anyone. Her favorite TV shows were the Mary Tyler Moore Show and the Andy Griffith Show. She worked with John in his insurance business until he retired.
Nancy is survived by her husband John of Beaver Dam and several cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at ST. KATHERINE'S DREXEL CATHOLIC CHURCH in Beaver Dam. Fr. Michael J. Erwin will officiate. A mass will be held at a later date in Mineral Point.
