Madison - Mitchell C. Thym, age 61, formerly of Dodgeville passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 28, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.

Mitch was born on July 24, 1957 in Cassville, WI. He graduated from Dodgeville High in 1975 with what he always said were the greatest classmates ever. He proceeded to graduate from U.W. Stout 4 years later. After a short period with the Magic Pan Franchise, he returned home to help run The Thym's Supper Club, eventually buying the restaurant from his parents. He also purchased the Courthouse Inn/Courtyard Lounge. After selling both businesses by 2009, Mitch has since worked as a Customer Service Representative for the Kinseth Hospitality Companies until his untimely death.

Mitch enjoyed any and all time spent with his family. He was fiercely devoted to his boys; his boys and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was a huge sports fan, loved to fish and travel. He just loved being outdoors. Mitch was a gentle soul with a huge heart and a great sense of humor. We were all blessed to have had him in our lives.

Mitch is survived by his wife, Denise (De-De Ripp); his sons Michael (Annie) and their daughters Amelia and Maggie, Adam (Sarah) and son Alfred Mitchell; his father Patrick Thym; his sisters Deb (Dennis) Fingerson, Dawn Higgins (Curt Bennett); and many nieces, nephews and cousins; his aunts, Rita Imhoff, MaryEllen Bower, Rosalyn (Guerdon) Voights, Jean Prochaska, Marilyn (Thym) Neu, his uncle Sam Harding and uncle Gerald (Marion) Rossing.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother Loretta (Prochaska) Thym, his biological father Duane Rossing, his grandparents and many other aunts and uncles.

Per Mitch's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. He wanted you all to remember him in all the good times that you shared with him.
