Waldwick - Mervin Martie, age 78, of Waldwick passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at his home.
He was born near Postville, Iowa on August 30, 1939 the son of Merlin and Marge (Christianson) Martie. He married Fritzie Steuri on October 7, 1960. He farmed in Iowa for several years. He worked as a cheese maker and hauled milk for Waldwick Cheese Factory and eventually hauled milk for the past 40 plus years. He enjoyed playing cards and mowing the yard.
He is survived by his wife Fritzie of Waldwick; his daughter Heidi (Jeff) Fuchs of Monroe; his son Scott Martie of Waldwick; his grandson Garrett Fuchs; his granddaughter McKenzie Martie; a step granddaughter Jennifer (Dan) Sills; his three sisters Dorothy, Marlene and Linda, and his best buddies "Jack and Toby". He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. following Sunday worship service at the WALDWICK COMMUNITY CHURCH in Waldwick. Pastor David Ritchie will officiate.
