Mineral Point - Mark Alan "McGoo" McGettigan, age 73, of Mineral Point passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at home with his family at his side.

He was born on January 5, 1942 in Milwaukee the son of William and Beryl (Meade) McGettigan. He moved to Mineral Point when he was 6 years old and attended catholic school and Mineral Point High School. He entered the United States Navy in 1960 to 1964. He owned, managed, and tended bar for over 30 years in Dodgeville and Mineral Point. He also did construction work until 2000. He later worked for Dick's (Pig Wig) until 2012. He enjoyed bar tending on weekends being with the people, he always had a story or a joke to tell.

He is survived by his wife Susan, his son Frank (Kaleen) McGettigan of Mineral Point, his daughters Colleen (Larry) Miller of Waunakee, Erin Golightly of Naperville, IL , and Quinn (Jamie) Currie of Middleton, granddaughters Jada and Emma Currie; his sisters Audrey "Mac" Kuter, Patty (Bud) Harris, Karen (Lee) Greenwood, and Micki (Bill) Fardy; his brothers Dennis (Denise) McGettigan and Patrick (Michel) McGettigan; his sister-in-law, Ruthie McGettigan. He will be missed by countless nieces, nephews, and other relatives and his many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings and in-laws, Brian McGettigan, Marion and Tony Nardi, Bill "Buddy" McGettigan, Bill Kuter, Gerry and Bob Kaiser, Fran and Patricia McGettigan, Raymond and Joanne McGettigan.

A Celebration of "McGoo's Life will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2015 from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Mineral Point American Legion Hall – Homer Lee Parkinson Post 170,
Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery will be at a later date.
