Mineral Point - Marion Mildred Walsh, age 89, of Mineral Point, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Sienna Crest Assisted Living in Mineral Point after a brief illness.
She was born on July 14, 1928, the daughter of Edward and Helene (Heibel) McCluskey. She graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1945 and married Bernard J. Walsh on Oct. 15, 1952. They farmed on a century farm in Waldwick Township until 1979, and Marion also worked at Wisconsin Power and Light for 23 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Ss. Mary & Paul Catholic Church.
Marion was a proud woman who worked hard all of her life and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed being outdoors and spent many hours working in her beautiful gardens. She also loved baking treats -- her peanut bars were always a favorite at family get-togethers.
Marion will be missed by her son Blaine (Jolene) Walsh; son-in-law Mark Yager; grandchildren Ryan Walsh, DeAnn (Chad) Borchardt, Stephanie Yager, Brad (Judy) Yager, Megan Yager and Alicia (Trent) Artus; great-granddaughter Elizabeth Yager; sister-in-law Joan (Don) Brunker; brother-in-law Pete Walsh; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bernie, daughter Gloria Yager, parents Edward and Helene McCluskey, brother Don McCluskey, and sisters Delores Hammond, Betty Evans, Lois Jones and Carol Cody.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Ss. MARY & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH in Mineral Point. Father Jim Leeser will officiate. Inurnment will be held in St. Paul's Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass on Monday at the church.
