Obituary

Dodgeville - Margaret M. Hirsch, age 92, of Dodgeville passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison surrounded by her beloved family.

She was born on September 3, 1923, in rural Lancaster, Wisconsin, the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Callahan) Langmeier. She married her sweetheart, Leonard Hirsch, in Meridian, Mississippi on January 10, 1943, just prior to Leonard serving in World War II.

Leonard and Margaret made Dodgeville their home since 1945. Margaret immersed herself into being a wife and mother and loved being a homemaker. As her family grew, she took on other jobs outside the home. Margaret was the Dodgeville area manager for the Wisconsin State Journal and the Capital Times for 15 years. She loved working with the many boys who delivered papers in the community. She worked for the Stella Cheese Factory (Universal Foods) for 12 years and for the hospitality department at the House on the Rock for 22 years fulfilling her love of meeting and talking with new people. She was a big fan of game shows and Dancing with the Stars. Her favorite thing to do was "going places," but the adventure needed include 'going out to eat'. But, what she loved the most was her family of five children, 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by children: Edward (Claudia) Hirsch of Fordland, Missouri; Maxine (Richard) Russman of Davenport, Iowa; Paul (Kris) Hirsch of Ridgeway; Jane (Mark) Erickson of Dodgeville; and Dennis (Sue) Hirsch of Las Cruces, New Mexico; eight grandchildren; Joy (Jay) Klika; Jason (Angel) Hirsch; Mandy (Frank) Babcock; Andrea (Larry) Schraepfer; Tonya (Jason) Saldanha; Kendra (Shawn) Hamilton, Julie (Tim) Tomas and Christopher (Paige) Hirsch; and 20 great-grandchildren; Matthew, Ashley, and Emily Klika; Alexandra Thompson; Hannah, Samuel, Juilia, and Gabriel Hirsch; Ben and Katy Babcock; Easton, Sophia, and Gretta Schraepfer; Wyatt Hamilton; Erick, Marcus, Ann Marie Tomas; Avarie and Gabriella Hirsch. She is also survived by her very special nephew Jack (Ruth) Langmeier, Phoenix, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her parents; her sister Roslyn Langmeier, brother Norbert Langmeier, and her grandson, Robb Russman. She will be greatly missed by family and dear close friends.
