Mineral Point - Margaret M. Griffiths-Roberts, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Mineral Point after a long illness from cancer.

She was born in Dodgeville on March 28, 1923 the daughter of Peter and Margaret (Jackson) Arndt. She married Roger "Red" Griffiths in September of 1941. They had five children; Ronald Griffiths - deceased, Gary (Linda) Griffiths of Mineral Point, Debbie Griffiths (Rob Holman) of Montfort, Vickie (Dennis) Staskal of Oregon, and Sherry Byous (Jeff Trickel) of Mineral Point. Margaret was preceded in death by Roger in 1969.

She married Ervin "Jake" Roberts in December of 1970 and combined his family Dean (Marie) Roberts of Castle Rock, Marianne (Jerry) Halverson of DeForest, Patrick (Katherine) Roberts of Kenosha, Jon (Denise) Roberts of Dodgeville, Jane (Ronald) Johnson of Mineral Point and Brian (Lisa) Roberts of Washington, IL with hers; she is further survived by two sisters Marilyn Eveland of Barneveld and Norma Newman of Prairie du Sac, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Margaret was a loving mother to all and a very proud grandmother to 33 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren with one on the way, 7 great-great-grandchildren plus one on the way. Margaret worked in Madison before marriage, then Burgess Battery in Mineral Point, Mobil Station when "Red" owned it, Pendarvis House, Senior Center and she was a pasty maker at the Walker House for many years. She enjoyed her family most of all, but loved her morning coffee, newspaper and crosswords each day, watching old movies, traveling, shopping and camping whenever she could. Margaret loved all that life had to offer.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Robert and Richard, a baby sister Anita, her husbands Roger and Ervin, son Ronald, and numerous brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point. Pastor Connie Matye will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 until 11:50 a.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME.
