Fairmont, Minnesota / Mineral Point - Lucille E. Gorgen, age 103, of Fairmont, MN, formerly of Mineral Point, passed away Monday morning, December 18, 2017, at the Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center.
Lucille Eisenbarger Gorgen was born September 18, 1914 in Martin County to Hallie and Maude (Mason) Bullard. She graduated from Granada High School and took teacher training in Fairmont. She taught country school in Martin County.
She married Ora Eisenbarger in 1934. They resided in Center Creek Township and helped run the family business, Sunrise Golden Dairy. Later they farmed and owned and operated in partnership the Skelly Oil Company in Granada.
Upon Ora's death in 1967, Lucille went to work as secretary for the Martin County Farm Bureau. In the 1990's she became a teacher's aide in the Granada Huntley school system. She worked as an aide for 10 years.
Lucille married William (Bill) Gorgen in 1981. They made their home in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. She created beautiful flower gardens and on more than one occasion a bridal party would come for pictures in the garden. Bill passed away in 1985 and in 1999 Lucille returned to Fairmont.
No matter what community Lucille lived in, she was always active in that community and in her church serving in many capacities over the years. She is a member of the First Congregational UCC Church of Fairmont, Minnesota. Lucille lived in Lakeview Nursing Home since December 2013.
Lucille is survived by daughter Dolores Gronewald of Fairmont, step-son and wife Greg and Joni Gorgen of Mineral Point, Wisconsin and daughter-in-law Barbara (Kirk) Gentling of North Port, Florida; brothers Don Bullard of Payson, AZ and Bob Bullard of Forest Lake, MN; Granddaughters Kim (Dan) Hall of Eagan, Minnesota, Jennifer (Scott) King of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, granddaughter-in-law Ann Gronewald of Granada, Minnesota, and step-granddaughter Beth Larsen of Dodgeville, Wisconsin. Grandson John (Debbie) Eisenbarger of Lenexa Kansas, grandson-in-law Dan Hinrichs of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, step-grandsons Grant (Ann) Gorgen, Steve (Denise) Gorgen of Mineral Point, Wisconsin and Mike (Jenny) Gorgen of Dodgeville, Wisconsin; great-grandchildren Kyle and Kelsey Eisenbarger of Lenexa, Kansas, Ross (Jessica) Gronewald of Granada, Minnesota, Rachel (Aaron) Jarvinen of Lakeville, Minnesota, Abby and Elise Hinrichs of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Megan (Yon) Moya of Bloomington, Minnesota, Kayla (Alex) Hinseth of Shoreview, Minnesota, Alison (Hayden) Flack of Burnsville, Minnesota; step-great grandchildren Lexie and Tyra Leonard and Grady and Gunnar Gorgen of Mineral Point, Wisconsin, Matthew, Joshua and Ryan Gorgen of Dodgeville, Wisconsin, Joey, Jaynie and Jake Gorgen of Mineral Point, Wisconsin, Kiagh and Kendall VanEtten of Dodgeville, Wisconsin; She is also survived by 6 great-great grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents Hallie and Maude Bullard, sisters Vivian Intlekofer, Doris Collins, and Marvel Overby; husbands Ora and William, son James Eisenbarger, son-in-law Don Gronewald, grandson Scott Gronewald, mother-in-law Erma Eisenbarger, father-in-law James Eisenbarger; sisters-in-law Doris Bullard, Adeline Bullard, Gwen Bullard, Dora Eisenbarger, and Inez Barnes; brothers-in-law John Intlekofer, Loren Collins, Raymond Overby, Dale Barnes, and Ernest Eisenbarger.
Funeral Services for will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at the FIRST CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST in Fairmont. Burial will be following the service in the Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
