Mineral Point - Lorraine M. Cenite, age 86 of Mineral Point, WI died on Sunday evening January 10, 2016 at Brookdale of Sun Prairie after a stoic battle with chronic lung disease (COPD).

Lorraine was born December 8, 1929 to James and Theresa (Hying) Grundy. She graduated from Linden High School and worked for Linden Cheese Company and Burgess Battery in Mineral Point. After a courtship that spanned 20 years, she married Frank Cenite Jr. on December 1, 1962. Their two children are Jill Cenite (Doug Wilken) of Sun Prairie and Dr. Mark Cenite of Singapore.

Lorraine enjoyed perennial flower gardening, fishing, shopping, reading, crossword puzzles, bingo and chocolate. She had a unique sense of humor and a quick wit. She was very proud of her children. She loved clocks and always wore a watch.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, six siblings and husband Frank in January 2008.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 16 at GORGEN FUNERAL HOME, 310 Ridge Street, Mineral Point, WI. Private burial will follow in St Paul's Cemetery in Mineral Point.

Lorraine fought tirelessly for many years against a disease that took her breath but never her tenacious will. She will be missed terribly but will forever be a guiding spirit for us.
