Ridgeway – Lois Marie (Dougherty) Jorgenson, age 84, of Ridgeway, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison after a brief illness.

She was born on April 8, 1937 to John and Marcella (Toay) Dougherty. She graduated from Barneveld High School in 1955. She worked as a housekeeper for many years at Memorial Hospital of Iowa County and nursing home.

Lois was 100% Irish and proud of it! Lois' mission in life was to work hard and to love and support her kids. Job well done, Mom. She loved to dance and just glided across the dance floor. She loved gardening and was the best cook / baker – besides being the best "Mom".

Lois is survived by her children Dean Jorgenson, of Ridgeway, Jean Ann (Clete) Prochaska and Jill Hilst, both of Dodgeville; Lois was blessed with five grandkids and four great grandkids Tanner Prochaska (Corissa) and Abby Prochaska, Maria Weier, Marissa and Wylie Hilst; and her lovebugs Raelyn, Castyn, Jordyn and Breckyn; her sister Patricia Blau; her former husband Ron Jorgenson; her sister-in-law Phyllis Dougherty; many special nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Leo Dougherty and Jack Dougherty.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021 at ST. BRIDGET'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Ridgeway. Burial will be held in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. on Monday at the church.
