Mineral Point - Leslie D. Stephenson, age 83, of Mineral Point passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from the effects of dementia.

He was born in Mineral Point on December 31, 1934 the son of Leslie L. and Rena (James) Stephenson. He was a life-long resident of Waldwick Township, growing up on the family farm. He was the fourth generation to live here, longer than any of his ancestors. He graduated from Mineral Point High School with the class of 1952. In June of 1953 he married Mildred Olson, a classmate. They became the parents of six children. He enjoyed caring for his herd of Angus cattle. Having his grandchildren here was a constant pleasure. Leslie worked in the Stocking Department at Lands' End for 21 years, where he made many friends before retiring in June of 2009.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred; four sons, two daughters, 13 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a cousin, Evalena (Clifford) Anderson, as well as other cousins, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother James, his father and mother-in-law John and Marion (Ferrell) Olson, twin infant grandsons and an infant great-granddaughter.

A Private Family Service will be held at the Gorgen Funeral Home in Mineral Point. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
