Dodgeville - L. Jo Ann Heibel, age 86, of Dodgeville, died on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville.

Joan was born on June 26, 1927 in Independence, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Josephine (Urness) Reese. She was married to Dwayne Heibel, who preceded her in death in 1986. In addition to being a wonderful mother, Joan worked with her husband for years in their local business, Heibel Hardware. Her interests included reading (especially historical novels), working crossword puzzles, watching TV documentaries and listening to music. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Joan is survived by her son, Mike Heibel, of Dodgeville; her daughter, Pam (Garth) Althaus, of Dodgeville; two grandsons, Dan (Meredith) Heibel, of Madison and Rob Heibel, of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sisters, Jean Scott and Ellen Holimon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville. Fr. Patrick Wendler will officiate. Burial be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass on Tuesday at church.

The family requests that memorials be made to St. Joseph's School Trust Fund.
