Dodgeville – Kim Alan Pustina, age 68, passed away of a rare cancer on September 20, 2022, at his home in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.

Kim was born on August 10, 1954, to Donald and Evelyn (Wilkins) Pustina. Kim and his younger brother Kurt were raised in part by Don's mother, Ann, who instilled a strong sense of faith and family, pride in their Bohemian heritage, and a lifelong love of cooking.

At age 16, Kim helped build the road from his house to Dodgeville High School, where he graduated with the class of 1972. He took pride in his family business, Pustina Excavating, and found great success and satisfaction "moving dirt" alongside his father. For over half a century, Kim and Don sculpted the land they loved into homesteads, ponds, country roads, agricultural conservation projects, and the Dodge-Point back nine.

Kim married the love of his life, Torre Dietzman, on June 23, 1989. Together they raised two darling daughters, Natalie and Nicolette, who will always remember their father as a beacon of comfort, sincerity, encouragement, and unconditional love. Kim's greatest honor was his role as Papa to his young grandson, Adam, with whom he shared his passion for big trucks and great-great-Grandma Ann's chocolate chip cookies. He had looked forward to teaching Adam so much in the years to come, and shared deeply in the joy of two new grandbabies he was not destined to meet in this life.

A wide range of interests earned Kim countless accolades, stories, and friendships throughout the decades. His appreciation of nature brought him back to his most cherished places of peaceful solitude time and time again. But above all, his favorite hobby was lending his time and talents to anyone in need.

Kim has been reunited in heaven with his parents, Evelyn and Don, and his godson, Nicholas Pustina. He leaves behind his wife Torre, daughters Natalie (Cody) Durni and Nicolette (Dan) Bandyk, grandson Adam Bandyk, and two grandchildren due later this fall, Ezra Bandyk and Vivienne Durni. He is further survived by Evelyn Terrill, a beloved grandmother to his children; his brother Kurt (Mary) Pustina; nephews Matthew (Olga) Pustina, Joe (Amy) Philipps, and Jeremy (Kayleen) Philipps; stepsister Kelly O'Brien (Philippe Rateau) and family; and many cousins whom Kim warmly regarded as his own siblings.

At Kim's request, a private Funeral Mass and burial will be held this week.
