Mineral Point – Judith "Judy" R. Godfrey, age 71, of Mineral Point passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at UW Hospital in Madison.
She was born on December 12, 1945, the daughter of Kenneth and Jane (Marsh) Harker. She graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1964. Judy married David Godfrey on September 26, 1973 in Mineral Point and he preceded her in death in 1998.
Judy worked as a Livestock hauler for many years and also worked for Oscar Mayer, Advance, Ben Franklin Store in Mineral Point and the Leather Works in Mineral Point. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Mineral Point and was a past president. Judy enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, camping, playing cards and the Packers. She also loved her pet companion Sam.
Judy is survived by her brothers Greg (Nancy) Harker and John Harker of Brodhead; her brother-in-law Ken Gay of Indiana; her sisters-in-law Dorothy Taylor of Sauk City and Eileen Howard of Mineral Point; 3 stepchildren Gregg (Wanda) Godfrey, Mike (Laurie) Godfrey and Deb Bowers all of Mineral Point; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dave, a sister Diane Gay, brothers-in-law Phil Howard and John Taylor, and a sister-in-law Lois (Albert) Burgess.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point. Pastor Rich McLeer will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:50 p.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME.
