Belmont - Judy Buss, born May 25, 1939 in the village of Belmont to Gilbert and Anna (Schult) Ludlum. She died May 25, 2025 in Platteville hospital, surrounded by family on her 86th birthday. She was married to Donald Buss on August 23,1958 in St. Philomena Catholic Church, Belmont (first wedding held in the new church). Together they farmed in the Truman area until 1972 when they moved to Belmont.

Judith started working at WDHIC in Belmont and then Verona until her retirement in 2002. After her retirement, she started working for the Village of Belmont office. For many years, she also worked at the Belmont Sale Barn, along with her husband and son.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Don, daughter, Sue (Gary) Farrey of Belmont, son, James (Susan) Buss of Madison, daughter, Barb (Jeff) Brickl of Prairie du Sac, son Bill (Shirley) Buss of Platteville, and son, Steve (Sandy) Buss of Cross Plains. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, her sister, Pat Graber Forbes of Mineral Point and sister-in-law, Dorothy Calvert of Lena, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Anna Ludlum, in-laws, Homer and Helen Buss, grandson, Chris Schaaf, granddaughter, Michelle Buss, and son-in-law, Dave Ballweg, 3 brothers-in-law, Dave Graber, Tom Forbes and George Calvert.

She loved supporting Packers games for years, as season ticket holders. She also supported grandchildren at various school events, as well as many trips to Branson, Missouri. One of her hobbies was sewing and mending. She also loved going to Sunday breakfast with her and Don's friends.

A Mass Christian Burial will be held at ST. PHILOMENA CATHOLIC CHURCH on Thursday, May 29 at 12:00 noon. Fr. Bernie Rott will officiate. Burial will be held in the Belmont Cemetery.

A visitation will be held at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point on Wednesday, May 28 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM and on Thursday, May 29 from 11:00-11:50 AM at the church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Edenbrook Nursing Home of Platteville and Dr. White of Platteville for their excellent care, especially during the last few months.
