Dodgeville - Joy Yvonne Clark, 76, of Dodgeville passed away Monday, February 3 at home surrounded by her family. She was born February 17, 1937 in Melrose Park, IL to Erling and Ione Askevold.

Joy had many jobs over the years, waitress, hostess, restaurant owner, but her two favorite jobs were mom and grandma. The thing her grandchildren say they will miss the most are her warm embracing hugs when they came visit and the kiss on the cheek when they went to leave. Always telling them to "be good."

Joy was very artistic, loving to paint, sew and anything crafty. We all have many handmade Christmas ornaments that remind us of her every time we decorate our trees. She took pleasure in working her garden and loved flowers; planting new ones every year. She couldn't wait for all of them to bloom.

She loved going places with her husband and love of her life, Jim. They had lots of adventures together over the years. She especially enjoyed their trips visiting all of their children.

Joy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim; her six children, Peggy and Bob Agena of Franklin, WI, Annie and JW Ewing of Richland Center, Jim and Lisa Clark of Seattle, WA, Daniel and Karen Clark of Belgrade, MT, April and Kim Phillips of Renton, WA, Mary and Cory Berg of Dodgeville, WI; 17 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; her siblings, Joanne and Pat Sinople, Karen Sorisso, Janis and Jim Popovtschak, all of IL, Janet and Gunther Popovtschak and Al Askevold, both of MO and Terry Askevold of Spring Green, WI; her sister-in-law, Mary Pitcher of MO; her brother-in-law, George Clark of IN; lots and lots of nieces and nephews and her darling little dog, Ladybug, who was her constant companion.

She was our wise counselor and the heart of the family. We already miss her more them we could ever have imagined. She was loved and will always be loved and will live in hearts every day.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the DODGEVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. Rev. Rom A. Pegram will officiate. Burial will be held in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, please give to Upland Hill Hospice or the Humane Society.

The Clark family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Upland Hills Hospice for their kindness and gentle care of Joy during her last days. We are thankful her last days were spent peacefully at home.
