John R. Polkinghorn's Obituary
Mineral Point - John Robert Polkinghorn, age 53, of Mineral Point passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at UW Hospital in Madison.
He was born in Dodgeville on December 27, 1963 the son of Robert and Shirley (Huset) Polkinghorn. He was raised, educated and work for several farmers in the Mineral Point area. He became disabled in 2002.
John is survived by his wife Cindy, four sons; John (Cheryl), Justin (Dorothy), Josh and Chris; his mother Shirley and a brother Jim (Mary), five grandchildren, four step grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, also his favorite pets Shorty and Tiny.
John loved being outdoors, loved animals and outdoor sports. He was an avid Packer and Badger fan.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in MIneral Point. Pastor Gerhardt Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME.
