Middleton, WI / Rockford, IL – Jerry Gene Doyle of Middleton, WI, formerly of Rockford, IL lost his battle with cancer, with his wife by his side, on Monday, October 25, 2021. The son of Roy and Mabel (Seaman) Doyle, he was born in Rockford, IL, on September 12, 1946. After graduating from Auburn High School in Rockford in 1965, he joined the Navy and served with the Seabees in Vietnam

He was a member of the Local 150 Union of Operating Engineers for 50 years and retired from Rockford Sand & Gravel in 2006. Doyle was an active member of the Hidden Valley Community Church in Dodgeville, WI. He and his wife, Anita, recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on September 28.

Doyle was a music enthusiast and an avid coin collector. He enjoyed puzzles, going to car shows and museums and watching documentaries. Doyle was a talented craftsman and handyman who loved gardening.

Surviving are his wife, Anita; three children, DeAnna (Fred) Strand, Donna Doyle and David (Ivonne) Doyle; three stepchildren; Andrew Leverton, Andrea (Deric Clyce) Leverton and Allison (Pat) Philipps; grandchildren Kennedy, Nikkole and Trey Strand, Grace, Emily and Oliver Doyle; three step grandchildren, Logan Leverton and Abigail and Emily Philipps. His brother, James Doyle. He loved them all dearly.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Iowa County Humane Society (Dodgeville, WI).

The funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the WILLWOOD BURIAL PARK CHAPEL, 7000 W. State St., Rockford, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Graveside service will be immediately following with military rites.
