Mineral Point - Jean M. Weitzel, age 84 of Mineral Point passed away peacefuly in the night on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Sienna Crest Assisted Living in Mineral Point.

She was born in Antigo, WI on April 9, 1936 the daughter of Ed and Marie Hill. She attended Mineral Point High School. She married her high school sweetheart Bill on May 20, 1954.

She worked as a waitress at local tavern/restaurants once her children were grown. Later she owned and operated the Skogmos store in Mineral Point. She was a bus driver for Mineral Point schools for 19 years. She was an avid bridge player and won many tournaments of which she was very proud. Family was her life and this was shown to all of us on a daily basis.

Jean is survived by her two sons, Mike (Chuck) of Madison and Gary (Kim) of Mineral Point; her daughter Laura (Chuck) Knutson of Platteville; her five grandchildren, Shawn (Lisa) Knutson of Dodgeville, Curt (Keirsten) Knutson, Jeni (Matt) Blanchard, Chris (Misty) Weitzel, Cale (Chelsea) Weitzel all of Mineral Point; her ten great grandchildren; her sister Mary of Boise, ID; her brother Ray of NY, NY; her sister-in-law Sandy Weitzel of Mineral Point.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents Ed and Marie, her brother Larry, her grandson Jeremy, her brothers-in-law Fritz and Larry Weitzel and her sister-in-law Charmaine.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
