Dodgeville – James (Jim) Griffiths, age 83, of Dodgeville, died on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

He was born in Rockford, Illinois on July 9, 1939, the son of Homer and Janet (Jones) Griffiths. Jim graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1957 and then graduated from DePaul University with an accounting degree. He spent 41 years of his professional life working as an Accountant for Texaco Corporate in Chicago as well as their regional offices in Atlanta, Houston, and Los Angeles.

Following retirement, he returned to Dodgeville where he was able to become involved in the community with several years on the County Board and SWBC mentor small business program.

Jim is survived by his wife, Alice (Thompson); three daughters, Jane (Dave) Johnson of Dunedin, Florida, Laura (Stan) Olson of Dodgeville, Sue (John) Kruszynski of Sycamore, Illinois; one son, David (Connie) Griffiths of Jasper, Tennessee; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In addition, one sister, Barbara (Dick) Leibert of York, Pennsylvania; a brother-in-law, Norman Johnson of Mineral Point and 12 nieces and nephews as well as a few cousins around the country.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Marilyn Griffiths, his sister Virginia and her husband Boyd Booze and sister-in-law Marilyn Johnson.

A small family grave-side service is being held at this time at the Spring Green Cemetery officiated by Pastor Jim from the Dodgeville United Methodist Church.

A celebration of life is being planned for summer of 2023.
