Dodgeville – Jack Browning Schulte, II, age 84, of Dodgeville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2022.

Jack was born January 27, 1938 in Havana, IL, the son of Jack Browning Schulte and Zella Pearl (Mackey) Schulte. His love for fishing, hunting, gardening and farming began while growing up there in west-central Illinois. He graduated from Havana High School and subsequently Western Illinois University (Macomb, IL) where he met Judith Evelyn Madura. He received his army draft papers. Jack and Judy married in 1961, then traveled together to Germany where he was stationed to serve in the U.S. Army. He was transferred back to the U.S. in 1963. Jack and his growing family relocated from Illinois to Wisconsin shortly thereafter, where he continued to serve in the military through the end of his initial enlistment.

Prior to settling into farm life in 1967 in Wiota Township, Lafayette County, the family also resided for short periods of time in Arlington and Mineral Point while Jack worked in sales for Pride Seed Corn. Then, Jack farmed until 1983. He gradually became involved and worked in farm implement sales, for LF George, Inc. Jack and Judy divorced. Jack married Bernadette "Dolly" Stephens in 1984, and they resided for the remainder of their lives in Dodgeville, WI. He was blessed with a large extended family. While he worked as a Sales Representative for Beltone in hearing aids, Jack felt his work was very important in aiding people with hearing loss. He loved fishing, gardening and watching football in his spare time, but throughout his life loved to volunteer at Veterans' and military events and spend time socializing and visiting people around town. Being present in his community was important to him, until he was no longer able to do so.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Dolly.

He is survived by his sister Diane (Don) Mattison of Addison, IL; his sons Jack "Jay" Schulte, Joseph "Joe" (Karen) Schulte, Jonathan "Jon" (Shelley) Schulte and daughter Lisa (Schulte) Daane; his grandchildren Monica (DJ) Sipes, Melissa (Kyle) Smith, Dane Schulte, Alex (Morgan) Schulte, Miranda Daane and Dana Schulte; one great grandchild; his stepchildren Dennis (Deb) Fingerson, Steve Fingerson and Sherry (Fingerson) James; his step grandchildren Farrah (Andy) Slinger, Jason (Jodi) Fingerson, Julie Porteous, Angie (Christopher) Vitale, Candi (Kevin) Cassata, Kelly (Dave) Martine and Nikki (Jamie) Palzkill; 21 step great-grandchildren; his niece Gail Forrest and his nephews Steven Forrest and Brian Forrest.

Private Family services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville.
