Obituary

Blue Mounds - Harlan W. Anderson, 70, of Blue Mounds passed away surrounded by family and friends on Friday, July 11, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer.

Harlan was born on August 31, 1943 to Clifford and Hazel Anderson. Harlan is a 1961 graduate of Hollandale High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a Navy Seabee of which he was proud and loved. After his service time in the Navy, Harlan's career included working as a carpenter and arming and then finished his career in the U.S. Postal Service. Harlan enjoyed fishing, woodworking and playing cards.

In 1970, Harlan married the love of his life, Karen A. Collins. Harlan and Karen had three children, Mark Anderson, Bridget (James) Hageman and Mathew (Lana)
Anderson; five beautiful grandchildren, Jacob and Chase Anderson, Martina and Sawyer Hageman and Ava Anderson.

Harlan is further survived by two brothers, Richard (Jeanie) Anderson of Arkansas and Sheldon (Pat) Anderson of Clinton, IA; two sisters, Marilyn (Gary) Hermenson of Madison and Karen (Bruce) Baker of Oregon, WI; and extended family and friends.

Harlan is preceded to death by his parents, Clifford and Hazel Anderson, his father-in-law, Edwin Collins and his brother-in-law, Ronald Thousand.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Ss. MARY & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH in Mineral Point. Fr. David Flanagan will officiate. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:30a.m. until time of Mass on Saturday at the church.
