Obituary

Dodgeville - Gladys Rose (Anderegg) Thuli, age 84, of Dodgeville, passed away peacefully in the company of family on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Upland Hills Nursing & Rehab Center in Dodgeville.

She was born on December 27, 1931, in Monroe Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Arnold and Rose (Abplanalp) Anderegg. In the late 1930's her family moved to Barneveld, where her parents were cheese makers. She graduated from the Barneveld High School where she loved playing the clarinet. After graduation she worked at the Barneveld State Bank.

Gladys and Arnold Thuli met at a cheesemakers' ball. They were married on August 12, 1950 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Ridgeway. They owned and operated the Ridgeway Cheese Factory until 1960 when they moved the milk intake over to the Iowa County Co-op Dairy in Dodgeville. In addition to raising seven children, Gladys kept the books for their businesses and remained active in church functions, and volunteered at the local hospital. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, canning, socializing with the Red Hat Ladies, and many other activities.

Gladys, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma will be missed dearly and is survived by all of her children; Rick (Lauren) Thuli of Dodgeville, Greg (Roxanne) Thuli of Dardenne Prairie, MO, Bob (Evy) Thuli of Dodgeville, Gerry (Karen) Thuli of Dodgeville, Mark (Karen) Thuli of Woodland Park, CO, David (Beth) Thuli of Wauwatosa, WI, and Lisa (Matt) Luescher of Worb, Switzerland; 18 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; her sister, Betty Goke of Belleville, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; her parents; her brother, Harry Anderegg (at birth); and her brother-in-law, Ronald Goke.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 18, 2016, at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Dodgeville. Father Jim Leeser will officiate. Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2016, at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME, where a rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. Friends may also call from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Parish in Dodgeville.
