Pasadena, CA / Dodgeville – Gerald J. Day, age 91, of Pasadena, formerly of Dodgeville, died on Friday, July 8, 2022.
He was born on January 21, 1931 in Richland Center, WI, a son of the late Leo and Mae (Kosharek) Day. He graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1949.
Gerald was a keeper of the Catholic faith. His priorities were God, family and friends. Gerald was gentle, kind, generous, loved nature and the outdoors, intelligent, well read and cared for everyone he met. You had a new friend when you met him. He joined The Society of Jesus (Jesuits) after high school and later travelled the U.S. and worked as a social worker in New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles. He then served as a director of a Los Angeles mental health facility. He formed close, lifelong friendships everywhere he lived.
He is survived by his brother Norbert, sister Alice Zimmer, nieces and nephews and their families. Gerald loved his very close Pasadena family of Gloria Tarin and Mauricio Morales. We are all blessed to have known Gerald.
