Avoca, WI / Minneapolis – In Loving Memory of G. William (Bill) Jones, M.D., born June 9, 1922, died August 11, 2012.
Beloved husband of Zihna Jones; preceded in death by first wife Virginia Kaus Jones; his children, Edward (Carolyn) Jones, Wendy (John) Anderson, Nancy (Steven) Schwartz, Ralph (Colleen) Jones, Mark (Ida) Jones; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his step children, Joseph (Natasha) Emery, Kathryn (Charles) Filson, Genevieve (Jake) Weiss, Elizabeth (Gerald) Engebretsen, Maya (Keith) Mattke; five step grandchildren.
Bill attended Macalaster College and obtained his M.D. at the University of Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Army as a Captain during the Korean War.
He was a loving husband, father, step father and friend. He was a compassionate and caring doctor for 60 years. He practiced in Butte, MT, Des Moines, IA, Encinides, CA, Minneapolis, MN, where he added Homeopath to his skills, then to Anoka, and returned home to Wisconsin.
Bill was an incredible human being. He was multifaceted. Not only was he an incredible Doctor and healer, he was an artist, a musician, a track star, a gardener, a cabinet maker, a builder, a handyman and he appreciated nature in all its aspects. But, the greatest gift of Bill in the lives of all who knew him, was his unconditional love. He lived it, gave it and all who knew him were touched by it. He will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Campbell Chapel at Bloomfield Healthcare & Rehab Center, 3151 County Road CH, Dodgeville, WI. Family will receive friends one hour before the service.
