Linden - Fredrick R. Blum, age 81, of Linden, died on Friday, July 21, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.
Fred was born on February 25, 1936 in Monroe, WI, the son of Helen and Louis Blum. Fred and Janice were married on November 6, 1958 in Argyle. Fred and Janice farmed for many years in Argyle. Fred was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army.
They had seven children Steven (Rosanne) Blum, Cindy Blum, Julie Blum, Larry (Darlene) Blum, Terry Blum (Maria Wilson), Jerry Blum (Sherri Potter) and Dennis (Leslie) Blum.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife Janice, his parents Helen and Louis Blum, his sisters Emmaline Schneider and Dorothy Schmid and his brothers Louis Blum, Jr., LaVerne Blum and Alvin Blum.
Fred loved hunting, fishing, football and baseball. He enjoyed listening to old country and playing cards and pool. He also enjoyed fencing with his daughter and son. He will be greatly missed by all that he knew, especially his children and grandchildren.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville.
