Dodgeville – Frederick L. Meudt, age 63, of Dodgeville, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 15, 2014.

Fred was born on April 9, 1950 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Dodgeville, a son of the late Frederick W. and Marie (Hass) Meudt. He graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1968. He worked for Dodge-View Farm (Bob & Grayce Meudt) for over 35 years and then for Murn Tire & Tool for 8 years. On September 29, 1979, he married Marcia Otter at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Fred loved playing sheepshead at the Pleasant Ridge Store and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Ridgeway Riders Snowmobile Club.

Fred is survived by his loving and caring wife of 34 years, Marcia; his brothers and sisters, Gerald Meudt, James Meudt and Randal Meudt, all of Dodgeville, Patti Meudt, of Madison, Marilyn (Marty) Szabo, of Georgia and Phillip (Susan) Meudt, of Indiana; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville. Father Patrick Wendler will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville and from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass on Thursday at the church.
