Dodgeville/Mineral Point - Frances S. "Frannie" Powell, age 84, of Dodgeville and formerly of Mineral Point passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Mineral Point Health Services.

Frances was born on December 16, 1938 the daughter of William and Erna (Streich) Powell. She graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1956 and then later that year she enlisted in the US Navy and served 4 years. Frances had a son Daniel Wayne Powell and he passed away in January of 2022. She was employed at Carnes Company in Verona for over 30 years. Frannie was an avid Pointer, Badger and Packer fan.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret (Bill) Heins; her sister-in-law Pat Powell; her aunt Mary Streich; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Daniel, sisters, brothers and in-laws and aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life for Frances will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Chris Droste will officiate. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery in Ridgeway.
