Dodgeville – Frances K. Cloutier, age 92, of Dodgeville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 in Mineral Point, WI.
She was born the on October 24, 1933, the 2nd of 4 children to Anna and Stanley Gucinski of Superior WI. Franny, as she was known, grew up on the East Side of Superior and was a 1950 graduate of East High School. After graduating she worked in a small department store in downtown Superior for many years.
Franny then met the love of her life, Laurence Cloutier. (And you better call him Skippy!) Shortly after they married, Skip got a job with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources that took them on adventures all across the state! Living in many different towns over the years they formed friendships and relationships with countless families.
During their marriage, they were blessed with four children. Being a loving and supportive mother, Franny became involved with CCD, 4-H and attended all the sporting events, plays, musical performances she could.
Franny was an amazing homemaker who spent her free time gardening and attending meetings with the Dodgeville Homemakers Club.
When Skip finally retired, they "sold it all" and bought a camper and hit the road! Adventure was in their souls!
Franny lost Skip in February, 2022 and spent her remaining years being extremely well cared for at Sienna Crest Memory Care in Mineral Point.
Franny is survived by her children, Christy (Jerry) Kelley of Dodgeville, Cathy (Dale) Elsbernd of Decorah IA, Tom Cloutier of Dodgeville and Joe (Patty) Cloutier of Blanchardville; her stepson Scott (Margo) Cloutier of Fernley, NV; her grandchildren, Brittany, Melinda, Lacee, Shayla, Spencer, Lindsay, Nicole, Jenna John; many great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; her brothers Gerald Gucinski and Joe (Sandy) Gucinski both of Superior.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter-in-law Connie Cloutier, her brother Marty Gucinski, her sisters-in-law Judy and Deloris Gucinski and Jeanine Olson, several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held on October 29, 2026 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville.
