Mineral Point - Eugene W. "Gene" Gross, age 84, of Mineral Point passed away peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. He was born in Calamine on April 25, 1936 the son of William and Gladys (McKillip) Gross.

He was raised in the Darlington area and graduated from Darlington High School in 1954. He enlisted into the U.S. Air Force and served for 6 years. He married Dorothy King on August 10, 1968 at the First United Methodist Church in Mineral Point.

He worked for various pole building firms and later worked at Walnut Hollow and retired after 26 years. Gene enjoyed his daily coffee at the Pit Stop, breakfast at the Pointer Cafe, gambling trips, NASCAR, and spending time with his family especially his grandsons.

He is survived by is wife of 52 years Dorothy; two daughters Barbara (Vaughn) Ramsden of Spring Green and Debra (Matt Dolan) Gross of Clyde; two grandsons Kyle Ramsden and Kaleb (Randi) Ramsden; his great-granddaughter Madita Dorothy; his sister Wanda Teasdale of Rockton, IL and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Private graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Graceland Cemetery in Mineral Point. Pastor Marilyn Brewer will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by the Mineral Point American Legion Post 170 Homer and Lee Parkinson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Gorgen Funeral Home.
