Muscoda / Ridgeway – Estella M. Roen, age 86, of Muscoda, formerly of Ridgeway, died on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

She was born on September 19, 1940 in Passaic, New Jersey, a daughter of Clarence and Myrtle Hillmuth. She graduated from high school in Newark, NJ.

Over the years, Estella worked many jobs; she worked at Stauffer Cheese, as a housekeeper at the Rocks Motel and the New Concord Inn and most recently, volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul in Muscoda. She raised her six children and helped with many grandkids and great grandkids.

Estella had many hobbies, such as knitting, sewing, crochet, scrapbooking, gardening and playing softball. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandkids, friends, co-workers and was a “mom” to many from Ridgeway.

She is survived by her children Melvin (Marie) Roen, Jr., Matthew (Anilyn) Roen, Teresa Roen, Mark (Kelley) Roen, Michael Roen and Marvel Roen, III; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Bernice.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Private family inurnment will be held in Eastside Ebenezer Cemetery in Ridgeway at a later date.
