Mineral Point / Plover - Emanuel "Manny" Joseph Steffes, age 84, of Plover, WI, formerly of Mineral Point, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 27, 2019 at Ascension St Michaels Hospital in Stevens Point.

Manny was born on July 16, 1934 on the family homestead in the Kendall Township, Iowa County, WI, the son of Matthew and Mary Agnes (Freides) Steffes. He farmed for many years and after retirement delivered the Shopping News.

Manny married Helen Arthur on October 10, 1964. This year they would have been celebrating 55 year of marriage. Together they had six children William (deceased), Robert (Angela Meylor) Mineral Point, Patricia Schulist (Michael) Stevens Point, Brian (Corie Aide) Mineral Point, Bruce (Amy) Fort Atkinson, Steve (Lacey) Barboo. They have eight very dear grandchildren: Brian Jr., McKenzie, Allison, Jerod, Logan, Rylie, Gabe, Lexi and step granddaughter Briana.

Manny is survived by his sisters-in-law Donna Steffes of Mineral Point, Joan Faull (Tom) of Linden, Penny Roberts (Dennis) of Delafield.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son William, his parents, his sisters Marie Steffes and Kathleen Springer, his brothers Ernest, Gilbert, Jack, and Bernard Steffes, his brother in law Ernest Springer, his sisters-in-law Anna Mae Steffes and Jean Steffes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Ss. MARY & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH in Mineral Point. Father David Flanagan will officiate. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. till time of service on Monday at the church.

The family wishes to thank the INCREDIBLE staff at The Lodge at Whispering Pines in Plover, WI where Manny resided with Helen the past 4 years. They would also like to thank Laurie Kostka, NP and the staff with palliative care at Ascension St. Michaels Hospital for the outstanding care, love, and support Manny received and Father Steven Brice and the lay ministry staff for the beautiful prayers. Our family is forever grateful.
