Dodgeville – Elizabeth "Betty" Wieland, age 83, of Dodgeville, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Ingleside Manor in Mt. Horeb. She was the 8th child of 13 born to Orville and Florence (Abbott) Lee.

Betty worked for many years at the Swiss Miss Lace Factory in New Glarus. In 1959, she married Walter Wieland. She worked alongside Walt in running the Wieland Cheese Factory until their retirement in 2003, when they moved to Dodgeville.

Betty is survived by her sister, Julie Wills of Madison; her step son, Kenneth (Sharon) Wieland of Arlington, Texas; her step daughter, Sharon (John) Robinson of Johnson Creek, WI; 7 step grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter, 8 sisters, Tena Babler, Gladys Flowers, Doris Waterman and infant twin, Dora, Iva Goebel, Fern Norton, Lynette Jasper, infant, Linda Lee, 3 brothers, Edward, Julian and Donald Lee.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 22, 2016 at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH in Dodgeville. Rev. Mark Williamson will officiate. Burial will be held in East Side Cemetery in Dodgeville. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the church.
