Dodgeville - Elizabeth Nellie “Sue” Weidner, age 88, of Dodgeville, died on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at Upland Hills Nursing & Rehab Center in Dodgeville.

She was born on July 22, 1938 in Gurnee, IL, a daughter of the late John and Margaret Markese. She graduated from Warren Township High School in Gurnee.

On July 6, 1957, she married Kenneth Weidner in Waukegan, IL. They moved to Dodgeville in the 1970s. Sue worked as a waitress at Thym’s Supper Club for many years and then worked the front counter at the Quality Bakery. She also owned and operated the Redwood Restaurant in Mineral Point.

Sue is survived by her daughter Joyce (Mike) Hanson of Mt. Horeb; her sisters-in-law Betty Markese, Marilyn Tague and Darlene Rogers; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Weidner, her parents, her children Cynthia Plear, Ricky Weidner and Donald Weidner, her siblings John Markese, Patricia Weidner, Margaret Smith and Michelle Cooper.

Private family graveside services will be held at EAST SIDE CEMETERY in Dodgeville.
