Obituary

Black Earth / Mineral Point - Eleanor Mae (Laverty) Hoesly, age 97, passed peacefully at Heartland Country Village in Black Earth, Wisconsin on November 18, 2018.

She was born in Mineral Point, Wisconsin to Floyd and Zora (Griffiths) Crase. She graduated Salutatorian from Mineral Point High School in 1939. Eleanor studied in the Nursing program at the University of Wisconsin. She retired after many years of working for the State of Wisconsin Mental Health Department.

Eleanor enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs, gardening, crossword puzzles and being a devoted grandmother. She loved a night out dining and socializing! Eleanor also enjoyed a rousing game of Euchre and spending quality family time. She was an avid golfer and charter member of the Dodge-Point Country Club in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.

She married Ken Laverty in 1943 and together, they had four children. He predeceased her in 1962. In 1973, Eleanor married Ken Hoesly who passed away in 2001. Her daughter Maureen Aeschlimann and sons-in-law Leonard Oswald and John Kalsow also predeceased Eleanor.

She is survived by daughters Sharon Oswald, Margaret Kalsow, her son Bernard (Christine) Laverty, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

The family of Eleanor would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Heartland Country Village for their quality care provided. There is no visitation and services will be private.
